The United Nations Command (UNC) stated on the 30th regarding the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) landmine explosion incident that it has determined North Korea violated the Armistice Agreement and is taking corresponding measures.

On this day, the UNC issued this position concerning the DMZ explosion incident. The UNC stated, "In cooperation with the Republic of Korea military, we conducted a joint on-site investigation regarding the landmine explosion incident that occurred in the DMZ on the 21st." It added, "During the on-site investigation, we confirmed the presence of an active North Korean anti-personnel landmine south of the Military Demarcation Line (MDL) in Republic of Korea territory."

The UNC went on to say, "Based on the findings of the on-site investigation, the UNC determined that a violation of the Armistice Agreement occurred. We are addressing the violation in accordance with established procedures related to the Armistice Agreement." It further noted, "The UNC remains committed to upholding and enforcing the Armistice Agreement, while fulfilling its responsibility to maintain stability on the Korean Peninsula and prevent the escalation of tensions."
