Lee Kang-in of Atletico Madrid netted his second goal just five matches into his return to Spanish football and was named the match's Most Valuable Player (MVP).

Starting as a right winger in a 2026–27 Spanish La Liga Round 6 home match against Osasuna at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano in Madrid, Spain, on the 17th (KST), Lee scored a goal to lead his side to a commanding 4-0 victory.

Having scored his Atletico debut goal in a 2-0 victory against Malaga in the league opener on the 20th of last month, Lee bounced back from being substituted early in the second half across his past three appearances by playing his first full 90 minutes since the transfer and putting on a stellar performance. Football statistics platform FotMob awarded Lee a match-high rating of 9.0 across both teams, noting a 100% dribble success rate, a 76% pass completion rate, three chances created, and one big chance created.

Displaying lively movement from the opening whistle, Lee struck in the 9th minute of the second half with Atletico leading 1-0 on Jonathan David's opening game-winner. Collecting a pass from David in the center, Lee trapped the ball once with his left foot before slotting a right-footed strike into the bottom far corner of the net.

Riding the momentum of Lee's insurance goal, Atletico added a third from Robin Le Normand in the 18th minute of the second half and a sealer from Alex Baena in the 37th minute, securing their second consecutive victory to sit in third place with 13 points. The club will face second-place Real Madrid, who lead them by two points, in the Madrid Derby on the 20th.
