Former BIGBANG member Seungri, whose real name is Lee Seung-hyun, has been sued on suspicion of aggravated assault.

The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul said on Sept. 11 that it received a complaint against Lee on Aug. 26 over allegations of aggravated assault.

The complaint reportedly alleges that Lee assaulted a man in his 30s while they were dining together at a restaurant in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

Lee denied the allegation, saying, “A, who was intoxicated, suddenly asked to join us, and while refusing, I did pick up a liquor bottle, but I did not swing it or threaten him with it.”

He added that he later sat with A and talked with him, and that A saw him off when Lee left the restaurant first.

Police plan to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
