The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) announced on the 10th that they will hold the "2026 New Content Academy (NCA) Showcase" from the 19th to the 21st at the Hongneung Content Talent Campus and Content Culture Plaza in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul.
The event showcases content developed by New Content Academy trainees through their project-based curriculum, with a total of 21 teams participating — 8 teams from the second cohort and 13 teams from the third cohort of the long-term program. Industry professionals and general visitors will be able to directly experience the interdisciplinary content trainees created using new technologies such as AI, extended reality (XR), and virtual reality (VR).
The New Content Academy is a training program that develops specialized talent in interdisciplinary content built on new technologies like AI, XR, and VR. Trainees build practical skills by handling the entire process — from planning to production to technical implementation — through mentoring from industry professionals and project-based learning.
The showcase will feature a range of works, including generative AI-based content services, XR and VR experiential content, and interactive media art. Notable pieces include "The Great Rabbit Hole Adventure," a first-person immersive cinema experience that lets viewers witness how fake news comes to be accepted as truth, and "Mate-trip," a self-directed travel simulation game for people with developmental disabilities that lets them travel alongside an AI companion.
The exhibition space will be set up so visitors can directly experience the works and interact with the creators, while also exploring possibilities for commercializing the projects and industry collaboration.
During the event, an "NCA Open Stage" will also be held at Stage 66 in the Content Culture Plaza, featuring talks and discussions with industry professionals on topics such as trends in the content industry, creative experiences, and IP expansion strategies.
On the first day, director Cho Nam-hyung and original story writer Jay Robin of the drama "The Cook Becomes a Legend" will discuss IP expansion strategies. On the second day, director Shin Woo-seok of Dolphiners will share his creative experience, and on the final day, director Jang Hang-jun and Song Eun-yi, CEO of content production company Media Lab Sisyphus, will discuss content production and creative work.
Koo Kyung-bon, head of KOCCA's Content Foundation Division, said talent equipped with new technology and creative ideas is the core driving force behind change and growth in the content industry, adding that KOCCA will continue strengthening project-based education and industry connections to support next-generation content creators in opening up new possibilities.
Registration to attend the showcase is available in advance through the New Content Academy's official website, with on-site registration also available during the event. Participatory programs will also be offered at the venue.
