/ Cyber Operations Command

The Cyber Operations Command announced on July 27 that it is participating in the multinational joint cyber exercise 'Cyber Flag' through July 31.

Cyber Flag is an annual exercise hosted by the U.S. Cyber Command since 2011 to strengthen cyber training partnerships among key U.S. allies and friendly nations. This exercise is held at the U.S. National Cyber Training Center, with a total of 25 countries including South Korea participating.

This marks the fifth participation of our military in the Cyber Flag exercise since its initial participation in 2022. Our Cyber Operations Command stated that participation in this exercise is expected to enhance practical cyber operation capabilities. It plans to jointly share and analyze cyber threat information among participating countries, develop multinational joint cyber operation capabilities, and foster partnerships.

Brigadier General Bae Song-young, Commander of the Cyber Operations Command (Army Brigadier General), said, "This will serve as an opportunity to significantly improve our cyber operation capabilities through cooperation with countries holding the world's highest level of cyber capabilities," adding, "Based on our participation in this exercise, we will continue to strive to strengthen cyber operation capabilities, a core element of national security."

Going forward, the Cyber Operations Command plans to continuously develop cyber cooperative relations not only through the U.S. Cyber Flag exercise but also through the Korea-U.S. Cyber Commands' joint exercise (Cyber Alliance) as well as exchanges of cyber experts and technology.
