The Military Manpower Administration (MMA) will enter a five-day recess from July 27 to 31 to inspect facilities and equipment in preparation for the severe summer heat wave. During this period, military draft physical examinations across the nation will be suspended before resuming normal operations on August 3.

The MMA announced on July 24 that military draft physical examinations conducted at the Central Military Manpower Inspection Center and regional examination sites nationwide will be halted for five days.

This nationwide recess is being implemented to thoroughly inspect draft examination equipment and facilities in response to extreme summer weather, including heat waves and torrential rains, ensuring a safe and comfortable examination environment. Specifically, the inspection will focus on uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems to prepare for potential power outages, as well as air conditioning units, electrical systems, and fire safety equipment, alongside internal and external maintenance of the facility grounds.

An MMA official stated, "Draft examination notices have been limited during the summer recess period," adding, "We request candidates to double-check their individual examination dates to avoid inadvertently visiting an examination site by mistake."
