South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun exchanged views on practical cooperation between the two nations and regional affairs during a meeting with Greek Foreign Minister Georgios Gerapetritis on July 20.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Cho noted during the meeting held at the ministry building in Seoul that the two countries have maintained complementary cooperation in the shipbuilding and maritime sectors. He then proposed expanding the scope of future cooperation.
Minister Gerapetritis expressed a desire to strengthen ties with South Korea in defense and maritime innovation, including uncrewed technologies and eco-friendly solutions. Highlighting that both nations are like-minded countries sharing core values such as democracy and the rule of law, he expressed hope to jointly uphold international law and freedom of navigation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, "Both ministers agreed to maintain continued attention on ways to promote people-to-people exchanges," adding, "They shared views on key regional issues, including the Middle East and Ukraine, while agreeing to sustain close communication."
