Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won have agreed to jointly build an "AI ecosystem." The strategy aims to further advance the cooperative relationship that has so far been established primarily around memory semiconductors.

During a press conference held at the SK Seorin Building in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the morning of the 8th, CEO Huang stated, "The global demand for AI businesses right now is massive. This is why we are partnering with SK."

CEO Huang noted, "The AI industry has advanced through our partnership with SK," adding, "Our partnership will expand further into new markets." He continued, "We are at the starting point right now, and the future is incredibly bright."

He also pointed out that South Korea is one of the leading nations driving the AI industry, expressing a continuous intent for collaboration.

Chairman Chey also emphasized reinforcing cooperation with Nvidia. Chairman Chey asserted, "In the past, cooperation with Nvidia was limited to the supply aspect of memory semiconductors," adding, "However, from now on, we will build out (AI-related) infrastructure with Nvidia using SK's infrastructure and technological capabilities."

Mentioning "AI factories" and "R&D sharing," Chairman Chey said, "We will develop our relationship with Nvidia and ensure that we can respond more swiftly to AI demand."

On this day, SK Hynix announced plans for joint development of next-generation memory with Nvidia to build AI factories. Specifically, it stated that it would co-develop memory for the Vera Rubin AI supercomputer, Vera Central Processing Unit (CPU), RTX Spark PC, and Jetson Thor robotics computing platform.

SK Telecom also announced that it would push forward with building AI factories based on DSX, Nvidia's AI infrastructure platform.
