The Washington Post reported on July 20 (local time) that the U.S. Department of Defense announced roughly 100 American service members have been wounded in the war with Iran over the past two weeks.

Pentagon Spokesperson Sean Parnell confirmed on social media that approximately 100 troops have been injured since July 7, noting that the vast majority suffered mild concussions and 96% have already returned to duty.

Parnell stated that updated casualty figures will be published on the Department of Defense online database. According to the database, 14 service members have been killed and 427 injured since the outbreak of the war on February 28.

With nearly 100 U.S. service members wounded over the last two weeks alone, a quarter of all cumulative casualties since the start of the conflict occurred in just a fortnight, highlighting a sharp intensification in Iranian strikes.

Since early this month, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has launched concentrated attacks against U.S. military assets, including Ali Al Salem Air Base and Camp Arifjan in Kuwait, as well as Mina Salman Port and Sakhir Air Base in Bahrain.

The Defense Department also confirmed the identities of two of the three U.S. service members killed in an Iranian attack on July 17 at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan: 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Hawaii, and Pvt. Isabella Gonzalez, 19, of Texas.
