LS Eco Energy is expanding its portfolio of UL-certified products as it strengthens its capability to supply both power and communication infrastructure for the US market, particularly in the rapidly growing data center sector.
Industry sources said May 21 that communication cables produced by LSCV, the company’s manufacturing subsidiary in Vietnam, recently obtained UL fire safety certification in the United States.
The newly certified products are signal transmission communication cables used in AI data centers and smart buildings. The cables are designed for systems including access control, CCTV and alarm equipment.
UL certification is one of the leading US safety certification standards for electrical, electronic and construction materials.
The US market for data centers and commercial buildings is known for particularly strict fire resistance and safety standards because power and communication cables are typically installed together within the same infrastructure systems.
Following its earlier acquisition of UL certification for power cables, LS Eco Energy is now broadening its product portfolio across both power and communication infrastructure sectors in North America.
The company also plans to increase the share of high-value communication products through expanded optical cable production in the future.
Lee Sang-ho said the certification would help accelerate the company’s expansion into the US infrastructure market.
“With this certification, we will diversify our communication product portfolio for data centers and accelerate our push into the US infrastructure market,” Lee said. “We will continue increasing the share of high-value-added products.”
