LS Eco Energy is expanding its push into the U.S. power infrastructure market by leveraging its production base in Vietnam. The move comes as the company establishes an inter-affiliate supply chain where Gaon Cable's U.S. subsidiary oversees local sales and order acquisition, while LS Eco Energy's Vietnamese entity handles manufacturing. Amid growing demand for the U.S. electrical grid driven by investments in AI data centers and renewable energy, the company plans to target the extra-high-voltage cable market following its supply of medium-voltage (MV) cables.

On the 15th, LS Eco Energy announced that it recently supplied MV underground cables to a U.S. solar power farm. LSCUS, the U.S. subsidiary of Gaon Cable, signed the contract with the local client, and LS-VINA, LS Eco Energy's manufacturing subsidiary in Vietnam, produced the cables.

The supplied cables are used to gather electricity generated by the solar farm and transmit it to substation facilities. As investments in AI data centers and renewable energy expand across the U.S., demand is also climbing for distribution infrastructure connecting generation facilities to the power grid.

LS Group is responding to the rising demand by combining local U.S. manufacturing with its Vietnamese production hub. While Gaon Cable is more than doubling LSCUS's domestic production capacity in the U.S., it is utilizing LS-VINA's manufacturing capacity to handle additional volume. LS Eco Energy plans to increase exports to North America based on this division of production. In particular, LS-VINA's MV cable exports to the U.S. this year are projected to rise by more than 20% compared to last year. LS Eco Energy aims to expand its client base through new power infrastructure projects, including solar farms.

Following distribution cables, the company is also preparing to enter the extra-high-voltage market. Building on its track record of supplying Europe and Singapore, LS Eco Energy recently secured U.S. certification for 230kV extra-high-voltage cables and plans to pursue local orders based on this qualification.

Lee Sang-ho, CEO of LS Eco Energy, stated, "Gaon Cable is boosting its capacity to secure orders by linking local U.S. production with affiliate manufacturing hubs, while LS Eco Energy is expanding its North American exports," adding, "We will strengthen our push into the North American market based on synergies across group affiliates."
