Lee Jae-myung, currently on a state visit to India, is set to hold a summit with Narendra Modi to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation, with a focus on energy and critical mineral supply chains.
Following an official welcome ceremony hosted by the Indian government, Lee and Modi will hold both small-group and expanded talks aimed at strengthening strategic ties.
The leaders are also scheduled to attend a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signing ceremony, a joint press conference, and an official luncheon.
Expanding strategic partnership
During his visit, Lee will participate in a Korea-India business dialogue and forum attended by business leaders from both countries. He is also expected to attend a state banquet hosted by Droupadi Murmu.
National Security Adviser Wi Sung-lac previously said India is a “key partner” in expanding Korea’s pragmatic, interest-driven diplomacy. He added that the summit would present a vision for strengthening the “special strategic partnership” and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation across multiple sectors.
