BTS has secured the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart for a second consecutive week with their fifth full-length album ARIRANG, setting a new milestone for K-pop.
According to Billboard’s chart preview released on April 5, ARIRANG remained at No. 1, outperforming albums by Kanye West (Ye) and Melanie Martinez.
This marks the first time a K-pop album has held the top position on the Billboard 200 for consecutive weeks, highlighting the album’s sustained popularity beyond its debut.
The Billboard 200 rankings are based on a combination of physical album sales, streaming equivalent albums (SEA), and track equivalent albums (TEA).
In its second week, ARIRANG recorded 187,000 album units, down 71% from its debut week. Physical sales accounted for 114,000 units, keeping it at No. 1 on the Top Album Sales chart, while SEA reached 65,000 units and TEA totaled 8,000 units.
The album’s first-week performance was particularly notable, with 641,000 album units — the highest among groups since Billboard revised its methodology in 2014, and the biggest figure of any artist this year.
The album, which reflects BTS’ current musical identity, includes 14 tracks, led by the title song SWIM.
The track previously topped the Billboard Hot 100 and is expected to remain in the upper ranks this week.
