Jin of BTS shared how his mindset has changed since his early days in the group, revealing that he once planned to leave after about seven years.

In a recent appearance on a YouTube show hosted by Kian84, Jin spoke candidly about how his perspective evolved after debut.

“In the past, I thought I would just do it moderately and quit after about seven years,” he said. “At first, I figured I would stop around then, but as time went on, it became more fun and I became more sincere about it.”

Jin emphasized that his gratitude toward fans played a key role in that change. “I’m so thankful to the fans that I thought, ‘Maybe it’s okay to be more sincere,’” he said. “I didn’t expect to do this for so long, but I increasingly wanted to take it more seriously.”

He also spoke about maintaining an objective view of himself. “I think people need to be objective about themselves,” Jin said with a laugh. “Rather than being the type with outstanding skills like the other members, I’m more the type who pushes forward with my looks.”

Despite the self-deprecating remark, Jin praised the talents of his fellow members and expressed strong affection for the group.

He also highlighted the close bond among the members, noting their supportive and considerate team dynamic built over many years. Jin added that he values communication with fans and expressed his commitment to continuing his activities.

“I’m becoming more and more positive,” he said.

Meanwhile, BTS held their “BTS Comeback Live: Arirang” concert in Seoul’s Gwanghwamun on March 21 to celebrate the release of their fifth full-length album. The group is set to kick off a world tour starting April 9 at Goyang Stadium.
