A playful exchange between George Clooney and Park Bo-gum drew laughter in Milan as festivities began for the 2026 Milano–Cortina Winter Olympics.
The two actors met on Feb. 7 at the opening gala of OMEGA House Milano, held at Restaurant Cracco inside the historic Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. The event marked the launch of OMEGA’s brand space in Milan during the Winter Games, where the Swiss watchmaker serves as the official timekeeper.
Addressing guests, Park said he was delighted to attend and surprised to see Clooney at the venue. “I didn’t expect to meet George here,” he said, adding that he wanted to cherish the moment.
Clooney responded with a self-deprecating joke that instantly set the room laughing, saying, “It’s very frustrating for me because at 64 I look at him and I wanna kill myself.” The remark was delivered in jest and underscored Clooney’s admiration for Park’s looks.
The gala also welcomed U.S. track and field icon Allyson Felix, actress Marisa Tomei, and Italian actor Saul Nanni. OMEGA House Milano will operate from Feb. 8 to 21, serving as the brand’s official hub throughout the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
OMEGA President and CEO Raynald Aeschlimann said Milan marks the first appearance of OMEGA House at a Winter Olympics, noting that the opening night was made all the more memorable by the presence of Clooney and Park.
Park added that it was an honor to take part in an event celebrating the Olympic legacy.
