BTS returns with global Netflix live show

Global K-pop sensation BTS will livestream its highly anticipated comeback performance worldwide via Netflix.

According to BigHit Music, BTS will hold a special comeback show titled “BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE｜ARIRANG” at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul on March 21 to celebrate the release of its fifth full-length album. The performance will be broadcast live to audiences in more than 190 countries through Netflix.

BigHit Music noted that it is highly unusual for a major cultural event held in South Korea to be livestreamed globally in real time via an over-the-top (OTT) platform. It also marks the first time an artist has staged a solo concert at Gwanghwamun Square.

BTS’s fifth studio album, Arirang, is set for release on March 20, one day ahead of the comeback performance. A documentary film chronicling the album’s production process, titled BTS: THE RETURN, will premiere on Netflix on March 27.
