Controversy is growing around Fantasy Boys member Kang Min-seo after he repeatedly made a hand gesture during a recent livestream that some fans interpreted as a distress signal.

The incident occurred during a live broadcast on May 3 via the group’s official online account. In the video, Kang, the team leader, is seen extending one hand, folding his thumb inward, and then covering it with his other fingers—a motion that closely resembles an internationally recognized SOS signal used by victims of domestic abuse or violence.

Though Kang later clarified the gesture was a misunderstanding, concerns have persisted among fans. The situation escalated further when he unexpectedly missed a scheduled video call fan sign event on May 4. The organizers attributed his absence only to "health reasons," fueling speculation online.

On May 5, Kang addressed the issue on a fan communication platform, saying, “I’m currently recovering physically, and I was very surprised by how much this has blown up.” He continued, “I was feeling exhausted and mentally unwell at the time. I’m sorry for causing worry and distress.”
