Weak Hero Class 2, a South Korean school drama, ranked No. 1 among all non-English TV series on Netflix during the fourth week of April, becoming the most-watched title globally in its category.
According to Netflix's official “Top 10” site on April 30, the series accumulated 6.1 million views—calculated by dividing total watch hours by runtime—between April 21 and 27. It claimed the top spot in nine countries, including South Korea, Bolivia, Peru, Indonesia, Malaysia, Oman, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, and Thailand.
A sequel to Weak Hero Class 1, which aired on Korean platform Wavve in 2022, the new season follows model student Yeon Si-eun (played by Park Ji-hoon) as he confronts school violence. Class 2, produced by Netflix, was released globally on April 25.
Meanwhile, Korean series dominated the week’s non-English TV rankings, occupying six of the top ten slots. Heavenly Idol (No. 5, 2.9 million views), Resident Playbook (No. 6, 2.1 million), My Name is Gabriel (No. 7, 2 million), Weak Hero Class 1 (No. 8, 1.9 million), and Revenant (No. 9, 1.4 million) all joined Class 2 in showcasing the global appeal of K-content.
