Broadcaster Kim Na-young issued a public apology on April 28 after facing criticism for a photo showing her two sons standing on an elevator handrail—an image many netizens said violated public etiquette and safety norms.

Posting on social media, Kim wrote, “I’m sorry. I acted thoughtlessly. I will be more careful going forward.”

The controversy began when Kim shared several photos under the caption “A sports family’s weekend,” showing her spending active time with her sons. One of the images, however, showed Kim and her children with their legs extended while standing on an elevator handrail, sparking backlash.

When a follower commented, “Did you wipe the handrail afterward?” Kim replied, “We wiped it down thoroughly.” Still, criticism poured in, with commenters writing, “The issue isn’t just cleaning—it’s about teaching kids not to climb on handrails,” and “Public manners and safety should be instilled early.”

As the controversy escalated, Kim deleted the elevator photo and disabled comments on the post.
