Top stars from the entertainment industry have stepped forward to donate large sums to support wildfire victims and firefighters.
On March 26, singer and actress IU donated a total of 200 million KRW to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association—100 million KRW dedicated to wildfire victims and another 100 million KRW aimed at improving the welfare and perception of firefighters working in disaster zones.
Through the association, IU expressed her hopes that her contribution could be of small help to those affected and sent her condolences to the victims. "I sincerely wish for the wildfires to be extinguished without any further loss of life. I deeply appreciate the dedication of firefighters working tirelessly to control the fires," she said.
On the same day, Suzy and the team behind the movie Firefighter also contributed 100 million KRW and 500 million KRW, respectively, to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association. Actress Han Ji-min followed with a donation of 50 million KRW.
