Netizens are expressing growing dissatisfaction over the ticketing method for G-Dragon's world tour concert. The controversy stems from differences in ticketing procedures between domestic and international fans, sparking allegations of discrimination among domestic fans.
Galaxy Corporation, G-Dragon's agency, announced that the 'G-DRAGON 2025 WORLD TOUR [Übermensch] IN KOREA presented by Coupang Play' will be held at Goyang Stadium on March 29 and 30. The event will be hosted by Coupang Play, and tickets can only be purchased on the Coupang Play website. However, only subscribers to Coupang's paid service 'Wow Membership' can book tickets via mobile.
In contrast, international fans can book tickets through Interpark Global both on mobile and PC, leading to criticisms of better accessibility for international fans. Domestic fans are voicing their discontent over having to subscribe to a paid membership for ticketing and the inconvenience of the ticketing process.
On social media, the hashtag '#Explain_GalaxyCorporation_Ignoring_Fans' is spreading, with fans voicing their frustrations. Some fans complained, "Why do only domestic fans have to pay extra for Wow Membership?" and "Why do international fans have easier access to tickets while domestic fans face inconveniences?"
Additionally, fans are concerned that there is no separate allocation for seats booked through the two platforms, potentially intensifying competition. This has led to further criticism of discrimination between domestic and international fans.
Moreover, fans are disappointed that the concert schedule was announced through media reports rather than the official fan channel. Paid fan membership subscribers expressed their disappointment, stating, "There is no merit to the membership."
Coupang Play is expected to announce detailed ticketing schedules for G-Dragon's concert on Friday, but Galaxy Corporation has yet to make a statement regarding the ticketing method. As fans' dissatisfaction grows, calls for an official explanation from the organizers are increasing.
