Some Japanese fans criticized Sunny's post of Taegeukgi, the national flag of Korea.

On March 1, Girls' Generation's Sunny uploaded a picture of Taegeukgi on her Instagram, and wrote, "There is no future for the people who forget history." March 1st is Korea's Independence Movement Day.

Sunny's post immediately garnered people's attention and more than 100,000 netizens clicked 'like' button, encouraging her for remembering the independence movement.

However, some netizens criticized Sunny's post, leaving malicious comments on her SNS, such as "Isn't it anti-Japanese statement?", "Don't ever come to Japan", and more.

Meanwhile, the March 1st of 2015 is the 96th Independence Day commemorating the independence movement against Japanese colonialism in 1919.
