Political experts stressed, "Chairman Lee should directly solve monopoly issues"

Back on August 7, Choi Seung-jae, chairman at Korea Small Business Association, attended 'Small business NHN damage case briefing session' held at the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business.

On September 12, Choi Seung-jae, chairman at Korea Small Business Association, had an interview with AsiaToday and said, "Lee Hae-jin, chairman of the board at Naver, should attend the National Assembly audit and come up with responsible measures to solve Naver's monopolistic approach and 'media power' issues."

Chairman Choi stated, "We are doing everything possible to make Naver-related bills become laws at the National Assembly's regular session in September and the Assembly audit in October."

Political and portal experts pointed out, "In order to solve the problems of Naver now, chairman Lee and CEO Kim Sang-hun should present themselves at the National Assembly audit in October and come up with responsible measures."

In particular, Choi said, "Chairman Lee shouldn't hide behind and come up with practical measures to help small businesses and related victims who are shedding tears because of Naver's monopolistic practices."

Naver Affairs Committee under Korea Small Business Association plans to announce 'Naver charter' after the Chuseok holiday season.

Political movement to legislate 'Naver Act' is also speeding up.

On September 12, it was revealed that lawmaker Kim Se-yeon, who is the executive secretary of the Saenuri Party's discussion group on economic democratization, is preparing a bill to prevent portals from arbitrary news editing.

The ruling Saenuri Party's 'Task Force for Normalization of Online Portal Market' is expected to open a discussion about portals' monopolistic practices and news editing issues after Chuseok holidays.
