Naver won every lawsuit from 2008 to 2012.

It was found that 'portal giant' Naver successfully resolved seven of every 10 lawsuits, based on its financial power and personal network.

There is an increasingly loud call for fair judgment of the judiciary while lawsuits against Naver by small firm operators and Hangame gamblers are going forward.

According to the a study done by AsiaToday, Naver won 20 of 28 (71 percent) lawsuits nationwide that actually went to trial from 2008 to the first half of 2013.

Of the suits, Naver filed 8 lawsuits and won 7 of them, reaching 88% win rate.

What's more surprising is that Naver never lost a case in Seongnam branch of Suwon District Court from 2008 to 2012. Seongnam city is where Naver headquarters is located. For the last 5 years, Naver won 3 of 3 (100 percent) lawsuits.

Experts say the main reason for Naver's high success rate in lawsuits comes from the company's financial power.

A lawyer who has experience with Naver case pointed out, "Among lawsuits against Naver, there is a large number of cases where victims have the same type of predicament. Naver spends as much money as they can to win a case. Most of the cases get settled or go to mediation with the money being offered by Naver."

Another reason for Naver's success rate lies in the company's personal network. Kim Sang-Hun, the CEO of Naver, graduated from Seoul National University with a Bachelor of Laws, passed state exam, and had been working as a court judge. Currently, many of his school seniors and juniors, and trainees of the Judicial Research and Training Institute are working in the courts and the prosecutor's office.

An official from Naver's PR team said, "As long as I remember, we haven't lost a case since 2008."
