On August 6, Small Business Federation Organizing Committee stated that it will organize 'Small Business Committee on Naver Affairs' (or Naver Affairs Committee) to collect damage case and take actions.
Kwon Soon-Jong, the chairman of Naver Affairs Committee said, "We set up reporting center to collect Naver's unfair practices and damage cases occurred in the normal economic activity of small businesses. Any businessman who experienced disadvantage by Naver can participate. We will dispel Naver's unfair practices through the construction of a united front with related organizations and authorities."
Reported cases includes Naver advertising damage, illegal sale of intellectual property, and game content non-payment.
During interview with Asia Today, chairman Kwon pointed out, "As for flower delivery or real estate businesses who want to place their ads on Naver, they have to pay nearly 800,000 to 2,400,000 won per 6 months under the name of premium advertising. Although the price itself is heavy, Naver collects additional tax by the number of clicks made regardless of the purchase, harming small businesses."
The committee will hold 'The 1st Small Business Naver damage case briefing session' on August 7 and will collect detailed damage cases from small businesses to take strong actions against Naver.
The committee plans to collect damage cases that can be reflected to 'Naver democratization law', which Saenuri Party is preparing to legislate in September.
'The 1st Small business Naver damage case briefing session' will be held on August 7 at 11 a.m. at the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business building.
