"I plan to strictly observe whether Naver chose only 300 out of nearly 7,000 press for their search partnership and did not reveal its procedure," said Kim Yong-Tae of the ruling Saenuri Party and announced his plan to introduce 'Naver regulation act' in the regular session of the National Assembly in September for portal's economic democratization.
On July 28, assemblyman Kim had an interview with AsiaToday at the National Assembly Member's Office Building regarding legal regulations against 'dinosaur portal' Naver's monopolistic tyranny.
Assemblyman Kim revealed that he will investigate damage cases of press by Naver and collect various opinions before legislating the regulatory measures.
Regarding Naver's unfair practices of the news content, he said, "News contents require a lot of work and effort. Naver buys the news content dirt cheap and use them for another purpose, getting ad commissions or using them in other services fees. It doesn't make sense."
He mentioned the policy gathering held by the Saenuri Party's Yeouido Institute back on July 11 and said, "As Media Watch head Byun Hee-Jae pointed out, it is not right to cover their main page with the content that suits their taste. Since news content is a very important factor, I will certainly deal with it during passing the legislation."
He pointed out the unfairness of Naver's news searching partnership and its press evaluation procedure and said, "We received many opinions asking if there was any standard for Naver in choosing the press. Naver is getting the news content very cheaply to use them as the most powerful method to attract users to the portal. Something ought to be done about it."

He said, "When Naver finds some profitable businesses of other internet companies, it provides a copycat service and puts their services in the forefront of the searching results, sending its competitors to their doom. It's such a big problem."
Assemblyman Kim has already finished researching on the actual condition of Naver's monopolistic tyranny and damages. He plans to carry out a corroborative investigation to pass legislation against Naver in the regular session of the National Assembly in September.
