Hyundai Steel is accelerating its company-wide AI transformation (AX) with the launch of Steel-X, a next-generation generative artificial intelligence (AI) platform. The platform is designed to centrally manage documents and data scattered across the company and enable employees to develop and use AI agents for their work.

On Nov. 4, Hyundai Steel announced that it had recently launched Steel-X, a platform that provides AI services to turn internal documents and data into corporate assets.

Steel-X was developed to improve work productivity by enabling efficient use of internal knowledge scattered across multiple systems and departments and reducing repetitive tasks such as searching for information and preparing documents. Hyundai Steel and Hyundai AutoEver collaborated from the planning stage to develop the platform, incorporating workplace conditions and user requirements.

Steel-X has four main features: converting internal knowledge into corporate assets, an integrated multi-AI environment, an AI playground for employees, and integration with business systems and data.

The internal knowledge asset management feature automatically converts internal documents scattered across business systems and other locations into formats that AI can use, turning them into reusable assets. This enables integrated searches of internal documents as well as document-based question answering and summarization.

Based on this, the company has established an integrated multi-AI platform environment that allows employees to choose and use the most suitable AI system, whether an internally deployed AI or an external AI service, depending on the nature and purpose of their work.

In the employee AI playground, employees can create task-specific knowledge chatbots and AI agents based on personal documents or team folders without requiring separate development expertise. These tools can be shared at the individual, organizational and company-wide levels to spread knowledge and best practices in AI use.

Following the launch of Steel-X, Hyundai Steel plans to continuously incorporate requirements from its business operations and enhance AI agents and their integration with business systems to accelerate company-wide AX.

"Through Steel-X, we plan to continuously strengthen the foundation for company-wide AX by expanding the use of internal data and supporting employees in directly applying AI to their work," a Hyundai Steel official said.
