POSCO Future M is joining hands with Palantir to accelerate the digital transformation of its battery materials business. The goal is to enhance customer responsiveness by introducing AI starting with sales and marketing operations, and to improve productivity by 30% by expanding its application to manufacturing sites down the road.

POSCO Future M announced that it signed a contract on the 21st to adopt Palantir's data operations and analytics platform Foundry and artificial intelligence platform AIP.

Foundry is a platform that integrates and analyzes data scattered across multiple systems within an enterprise to support business decision-making. AIP combines generative AI with this to help enterprises utilize AI agents in their operations. Utilizing both platforms, POSCO Future M plans to establish an operational workflow where AI supports everything from data analysis to operational planning and execution, while humans make the final decisions.

The company will first apply the platforms to the sales and marketing division to improve customer response and collaborative operations. Subsequently, while verifying the outcomes of the adoption, it plans to review expanding application to manufacturing sites and enterprise-wide operations.

The medium- to long-term goals presented by POSCO Future M are improving customer responsiveness in sales and marketing by more than 60%, enhancing manufacturing productivity by 30%, and shortening product development lead time by 50%. These are targets the company aims to achieve through AI adoption, and the actual improvement effects will be verified throughout the future implementation process.

This contract is part of the company-wide operational innovation pursued by POSCO Future M. In July, the company presented its "BoT (Battery of Things) Ecosystem Game Changer" vision to lead shifts across the battery industry ecosystem, and has been conducting an enterprise process innovation (PI)-based AI transformation project since August.

The company is also expanding in-house AI utilization. It plans to sequentially apply best practice cases identified through its AI Festival by the first half of 2027, following field testing and the collection of employee feedback. Eighty-seven employees who completed separate training programs are currently carrying out initiatives to identify operational inefficiencies in daily tasks and improve them using AI.

Over the medium to long term, POSCO Future M envisions connecting data accumulated from product manufacturing through sales to reinforce collaboration between customers and suppliers and uncover new business opportunities.
