Daewoong Pharmaceutical is strengthening academic exchanges with local medical professionals to expand the Latin American market for its botulinum toxin Nabota. Following product launches across 12 Latin American countries, the company hosted its first standalone academic symposium in Argentina, widening educational programs tailored to clinical environments in each country.

Daewoong Pharmaceutical announced on the 20th that it held the Nabota Master Class (NMC) LATAM 2026, an academic program targeting medical professionals, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from the 13th to the 14th (local time).

This marks the first time a standalone NMC has been held in the Latin American region. Around 200 medical professionals from six countries, including Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, and Panama, attended the event. Seven global speakers invited from South Korea, Brazil, Argentina, and Dubai shared their respective clinical experiences and procedural know-how.

Daewoong Pharmaceutical has broadened its business footprint by launching Nabota across 12 major Latin American countries, beginning with Panama in 2015 and expanding to Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and Peru. Notably, it secured regulatory approval in Argentina as the first South Korean botulinum toxin product, laying the groundwork for entry into the local market. Propelled by these achievements, Nabota's South American sales have posted a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 20% over the past three years.

According to market research firm Grand View Research, the Latin American aesthetic injectables market reached 520.3 million dollars (around 691.5 billion won) last year and is projected to expand to 1.0462 billion dollars by 2033. The expected compound annual growth rate from 2026 to 2033 stands at 9.0%. Argentina is also cited as one of the key growth markets in Latin America.

This NMC was structured around educational programs considering local clinical environments, such as the anatomical characteristics and facial expression patterns of Latin American patients.

In theoretical lectures, lifting and skin texture improvement strategies using Nabota's signature treatment programs, Nabolift and Naboglow, were introduced alongside the latest toxin treatment trends. Functional anatomy essential for hyperhidrosis treatment and masseter muscle procedures, along with customized patient-specific strategies, were also included as key curriculum components. In the live demonstrations that followed, procedural techniques such as GlowTox, which combines toxin with skin boosters aiming to enhance skin conditions, were showcased alongside Nabolift and Naboglow.

Kim Kyung-oh, director of Doctors Dermatology Clinic's West Pangyo branch, said, "It was meaningful to share South Korea's toxin treatment trends and Nabota's distinctive procedural methods, as well as exchange regional toxin trends and clinical experiences from each country." He added, "I hope South Korea's clinical experience and procedure know-how help enhance the expertise of Latin American medical professionals."

Yoon Jun-soo, head of Daewoong Pharmaceutical's Nabota Business Division, emphasized, "This event served as an occasion to reaffirm Nabota's immense potential based on the clinical know-how accumulated by specialists from each country." He added, "We will continue to solidify our global network through tailored training that closely reflects regional characteristics and academic needs."
