South Korea's homegrown space launch vehicle Nuri Flight 5 has departed for the launch pad at the Naro Space Center in Goheung, South Jeolla Province, entering full-scale launch preparations.

The Korea AeroSpace Administration (KASA) and the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) announced that the transfer of the Nuri rocket began at 6:00 a.m. on the 6th.

KARI convened a launch preparation committee meeting at 6:30 p.m. on the 5th and decided to roll out the Nuri rocket to the launch pad after reviewing technical preparations and weather conditions. Mounted on an unmanned specialized transport vehicle, the rocket is scheduled to be moved from the launch vehicle assembly building to Launch Pad 2 over approximately one hour and thirty minutes.

Upon arrival at the pad, the Nuri rocket will undergo preparation work before being erected vertically, followed by umbilical tower connections and airtightness checks to supply electrical power and propellants, including fuel and oxidizers. Barring any issues during the transfer, vertical erection, and umbilical connection stages, installation work at the launch pad is scheduled for completion later today.

An official from KASA stated, "The Nuri Launch Management Committee is scheduled to convene on the morning of the 7th," adding, "We will determine the final launch time for the Nuri rocket after comprehensively reviewing technical readiness, meteorological and space weather conditions, and the potential risk of collision with space objects."
