Naver has proposed utilizing its AI and digital services, such as NAVER WORKS and Papago Plus, for global collaboration within the UN Global Compact (UNGC). The initiative aims to extend cooperation to the UNGC Headquarters, around 70 local country networks, and participating small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), applying Naver's AI technology to enhance communication and operational efficiency across the global organization.

According to Naver on the 30th, CEO Choi Soo-yeon attended the UNGC Board meeting held at UN Headquarters in New York, the U.S., on the 19th (local time). UN Secretary-General António Guterres and UNGC Executive Director Sanda Ojiambo, among others, attended the meeting to discuss the role of businesses in sustainable development.

At the meeting, CEO Choi suggested utilizing Naver's AI and digital services as tools to strengthen collaboration across the UNGC's global network. These services include Naver Cloud's collaboration platform "NAVER WORKS" and the AI-driven interpretation and translation service "Papago Plus."

The UNGC is a corporate sustainability initiative with more than 25,000 participating companies and organizations across over 100 countries worldwide. Naver plans to explore ways to collaborate using AI and digital technology with the UNGC Headquarters, around 70 local networks, and participating SMEs. Specific collaboration formats and timelines will be determined through future consultations.

In September of last year, CEO Choi became the first South Korean appointed to the UNGC Board in 17 years. Serving a three-year term, she handles activities related to responsible technology development, global digital cooperation, and expanding the sustainable management ecosystem.

CEO Choi said, "To provide greater momentum for UNGC activities, an efficient collaboration framework that tears down barriers between countries and regions is essential." She added, "I hope Naver's AI and digital technologies will help facilitate the digital transformation of UNGC local networks and accelerate global communication."
