Hwang In-beom marks 30th birthday with first goal in Portuguese football

South Korea midfielder Hwang In-beom of Porto scored his first goal in Portuguese football on his 30th birthday.

Hwang found the net in the 60th minute of Porto’s seventh-round Primeira Liga match against Benfica at Estadio do Dragao in Porto on Sept. 21 Korea time.

Andre Silva drove into the right side of the penalty area and sent a cutback toward Hwang, who finished with a first-time right-footed shot from the right side of the six-yard box to score Porto’s final goal of the match.

Porto handed Benfica its first defeat of the season with a 3-1 victory, helped by Gabri Veiga’s opening goal in the 31st minute and Victor Froholdt’s winner in the 54th minute.

The victory extended Porto’s perfect start to seven straight wins, keeping the club atop the standings with 21 points.

The match also fell on Hwang’s 30th birthday local time, and Porto posted a message on its social media accounts before kickoff congratulating him on the milestone.
