SK Hynix weighs memory chip production in U.S. with Intel, Reuters reports

SK Hynix is in discussions with Intel to produce memory chips in the U.S., Reuters reported.  


Citing multiple sources on the 16th local time, Reuters said SK Hynix is reviewing an option to lease part of Intel's long-planned chipmaking facility in Ohio to manufacture memory chips.  


Reuters also reported that SK Hynix is considering establishing a joint venture with Intel and major cloud companies.  


Regarding the matter, an official from SK Hynix said, "We are reviewing various measures to strengthen business competitiveness in the broader scheme, but nothing has been determined."
