Ahead of the World Youth Day (WYD) in Seoul in 2027, a marathon event will be held where youth from around the world run toward peace.
The Local Organizing Committee of the Seoul World Youth Day 2027 announced on the 28th that it will host the 'Peace Run Wishing for the Success of the 2027 Seoul World Youth Day' at the Cultural Plaza in Yeouido Park, Seoul, on November 28.
This Peace Run is a citizen-participatory festival designed by the committee to wish for the successful hosting of the 2027 Seoul WYD and to let participants experience in daily life the values of courage and peace that the event pursues.
The brand essence of the event is 'Courage to Achieve Peace,' reflecting the intent to ensure that taking a single step toward a challenge leads to solidarity and peace.
The race categories consist of the 10-kilometer 'Truth' course and the 5-kilometer 'Love' course, both starting from the Cultural Plaza in Yeouido Park, crossing the Seogang Bridge, and turning back.
All participants will receive a FILA T-shirt and socks delivered in advance, while 10-kilometer runners will receive a complimentary medal engraving service.
After the race concludes, various participatory booths and performance programs will be held for participants to enjoy together.
The recruitment quota is set at 7,000 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration opens on the 28th via the official Peace Run website.
