Driven by expanding demand for artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, Nvidia saw its second-quarter revenue more than double year-on-year this year.

Nvidia announced its fiscal 2027 second-quarter earnings on the 26th (local time). Revenue reached $96.221 billion (about 133.2 trillion won), up 106% from the same period last year and 18% from the previous quarter.

During the same period, operating profit climbed 124% year-on-year to $63.734 billion (about 88.34 trillion won), while net profit rose 126% to $59.688 billion (about 82.73 trillion won). Gross margin stood at 75.0%.

Data center revenue, which reflects demand for AI semiconductors, came in at $89 billion (about 123.35 trillion won), up 117% from the same period last year and 18% from the previous quarter.

Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, stated, "AI has reached an inflection point," adding, "AI is being deployed in real-world workloads, and tokens are productive and profitable. Computing is now turning into revenue." He further explained that the buildout of AI infrastructure is in full swing and that demand is accelerating.

Nvidia announced that its next-generation AI platform, "Vera Rubin," has entered full-scale mass production. The company explained that the platform is being deployed in racks across major partners, including CoreWeave, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, and Nebius.

On the back of Nvidia's strong earnings, its shares are trading up in the 4% range in after-hours trading at $218.25.
