Sungkonghoe University announced on August 19 that President Kim Kyung-moon has been reappointed as its 10th president following his tenure as the 9th president.

President Kim's reappointment was confirmed at the 240th board of trustees meeting of the Sungkonghoe University educational foundation on July 7. The university explained that the decision recognized his achievements in driving the stable growth of university finances and advancing educational innovation amid challenging higher education conditions marked by a shrinking school-age population and intensifying competition among universities. His new term runs until July 31, 2030.

During his tenure as the 9th president, Kim focused on enhancing financial stability and educational competitiveness. He diversified the university's revenue base and strengthened financial stability by expanding international student enrollment, bolstering the foundation for securing donations, and improving non-degree programs. Based on these efforts, he is evaluated to have improved educational conditions and laid a foundation for sustainable development. The university also produced strong results in major external evaluations, including the university institutional evaluation accreditation and performance evaluations for the University Innovation Support Project.

President Kim said, "During my 10th term, based on the stable financial and management foundation established so far, I will expand investment in student education and growth, substantially strengthening educational quality as well as career and employment support. I will also gradually improve working conditions and benefits for faculty and staff."

He added, "While preserving Sungkonghoe University's distinctive educational values and identity, I will develop the school into an institution that proactively responds to the changing times and shapes a sustainable future together with all members of our community."

Sungkonghoe University takes Openness, Sharing, and Serving as its founding educational ideals. Upon taking office in 2022, President Kim emphasized nurturing talent equipped with creative planning capabilities based on digital technology and attracting international students through building a global campus.

Alongside university administration, President Kim has also participated in corporate social responsibility initiatives. He serves as an expert member of the safety subcommittee on POSCO Group's Safety Innovation and Future Strategy Advisory Committee, an independent advisory body directly under the chairman launched in September 2025, contributing to corporate social responsibility and the realization of a safer society.

A graduate of Yonsei University's Department of Theology, President Kim earned a master's degree from Sungkonghoe University Graduate School of Theology and completed doctoral coursework there. In 2013, he was ordained as an honorary priest at Namyangju Church in the Anglican Diocese of Seoul. He previously served as an executive managing director at the edtech firm T-IME Education C&P and as editor of Sungkonghoe Newspaper, published by the Anglican Church of Korea Publishing House. He has led Sungkonghoe University as its 9th president since 2022.
