Hyundai Motor Group continues its multifaceted support for the health recovery and rehabilitation of firefighters at the National Fire Hospital, Korea's first medical institution specializing in firefighter care.

Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 12th that it donated vehicles and rehabilitation equipment at the opening ceremony of the National Fire Hospital, located in Eumseong County, North Chungcheong Province.

The group has continued various forms of support to help create a safer working environment for firefighters, including donating firefighter recovery support vehicles, unmanned firefighting robots, and electric vehicle fire suppression equipment; this latest donation of vehicles and rehabilitation equipment is part of that ongoing effort.

The company first announced its plans to donate vehicles and rehabilitation equipment at a 2024 handover ceremony for a hydrogen bus supporting firefighter recovery in Jeju, and Executive Chairman Chung Eui-sun reaffirmed the group's commitment to supporting the National Fire Hospital at an unmanned firefighting robot donation event this past February.

The ambulance, built on the Hyundai ST1 platform, allows the interior to be optimally reconfigured depending on its intended use, providing ample space for emergency care and the ability to accommodate medical equipment tailored to various field needs.

The vehicle also features a walk-through structure allowing free movement between the driver's seat and the patient compartment, along with a high interior ceiling that improves mobility and ease of treatment within the patient area. A lower step height (from the ground to the second-row door step) improves ease of boarding and alighting, supporting faster and more efficient patient transport and field response in emergency situations.

In addition, Hyundai Motor Group donated a hyperbaric oxygen therapy device for treating burns — a frequent injury during firefighting operations — along with mental health treatment equipment to support psychological recovery.

Hyundai Motor Group expects the donated vehicles and rehabilitation equipment to significantly strengthen the National Fire Hospital's medical infrastructure and support the swift treatment and rehabilitation of firefighters.
