LG Uplus employees introduce "LG Uplus Brokerage Service for Amazon Web Services." / LG Uplus

LG Uplus is offering an AWS cloud infrastructure-as-a-service brokerage service to public institutions, with a strategy of expanding services tailored to public-sector demand based on global cloud infrastructure and its own network-based operational capabilities.

LG Uplus announced on the 12th that it has officially registered its AWS cloud infrastructure-as-a-service offering, "LG Uplus Brokerage Service for Amazon Web Services," on the Digital Service Support System.

The Digital Service Support System is a platform dedicated to the public sector, allowing government agencies, local governments, and public institutions to search for and contract digital services, including infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), software-as-a-service (SaaS), and cloud support services. New services must undergo review by the Ministry of Science and ICT's Digital Service Review Committee before being registered on the system.

As a result, public-sector institutions can now access LG Uplus's AWS cloud infrastructure brokerage service through the Digital Service Support System. This also gives LG Uplus a foundation for expanding its public-sector cloud business.

Drawing on its cloud construction and operation capabilities and its experience running its own telecom infrastructure, LG Uplus plans to help institutions adopt AWS services tailored to their own standards and operational needs. Examples include chatbots for civil complaint consultation and administrative support using generative AI services, AI-based information search services, and database construction for managing statistical and administrative data.

Going forward, LG Uplus plans to expand its services to support the entire digital transformation process for the public sector — leveraging its own capabilities in networking, security, data, and AI transformation (AX) to propose optimal infrastructure configurations during the initial cloud adoption phase, and supporting stable service operation and efficiency improvements after the transition to cloud.

Jung Young-hoon, head of LG Uplus's Enterprise AI Business (executive director), said, "LG Uplus will help public institutions adopt AWS cloud infrastructure more quickly and reliably, providing operational systems optimized for each institution's work environment and security requirements," adding, "LG Uplus will bring together its AX business capabilities and its expertise in developing and operating AI services such as AICC to establish itself as a core AX partner supporting public institutions' shift to cloud-native systems."
