Samsung C&T's construction division will introduce a senior living solution that uses artificial intelligence to manage seniors' health and safety and support the operation of care facilities.
Samsung C&T announced on the 11th the launch of "Everling," its official brand for AI-based senior living solutions.
The name Everling combines "Ever," meaning "always," with "Linking," meaning "connection" — reflecting the idea of connecting seniors' daily lives with care professionals through AI technology.
Samsung C&T has piloted Everling since May at premium retirement communities and specialized senior care facilities. It has since completed trademark registration and launched a dedicated app.
Everling brings together seniors' health and lifestyle information with facility operations data, helping staff gain a comprehensive understanding of residents' condition and needs. The core idea is to build an AI-based care system that simultaneously improves service quality and operational efficiency.
In particular, the solution aims to realize "Digital Hospitality" — supporting facility operators so they can spend more time on emotional connection and communication with seniors, rather than simply managing residents.
Everling consists of three solutions: Wellness Coach, Safe On, and Living Manager.
"Wellness Coach" analyzes seniors' health and sleep patterns to provide personalized health management. It uses remote photoplethysmography (rPPG) sensors and sleep sensors to collect biometric data non-invasively, comprehensively analyzing this alongside data gathered from wearable devices and in-facility health centers. Based on the analysis, it provides customized coaching through a dedicated app for mindfulness and cognitive decline prevention, among other areas.
"Safe On" monitors seniors' safety around the clock. Using ambient sensors installed inside residences and AI-powered CCTV within facilities, it detects abnormal signs in real time, such as reduced activity, falls, and wandering. This helps reduce accident risk in advance and enables facility operators to respond quickly when unusual situations occur.
"Living Manager" is designed to improve facility operating efficiency. It integrates management of residents' health trends and safety-related information, along with other data needed for facility operations such as complaints, meals, and announcements. It also uses an AI agent to let staff see at a glance which residents need priority attention.
By automating repetitive tasks and enabling immediate response to abnormal signs, operators can spend less time on administrative work and focus more on direct communication with residents, the company explained.
Everling is currently being applied at actual senior residential and care facilities. Service planning consultation is underway for "Uiwang Medical Residence," being developed by Haemilli in Uiwang, Gyeonggi Province, while Everling has already been implemented and is in operation at "The Signum House Gangnam" in Jagok-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and "Caring Stay Uijeongbu Suamok" in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province.
According to Samsung C&T, actual operation has made it possible to monitor seniors' health status and detect abnormal signs in real time, regardless of day or night. This has helped prioritize and respond to residents who need intensive care, improving both the quality of care services and user satisfaction, the company said.
Cho Hye-jung, executive vice president and head of Samsung C&T's DxP Division, said a new digital-based care model is essential to address the challenge of a super-aged society facing a shortage of care workers, adding that Samsung C&T plans to expand Everling's application, continuously develop the service, and strengthen partnerships with specialized startups and companies to build a future-oriented senior care ecosystem.
