Hanwha will move up this year's Seoul International Fireworks Festival to early September, ahead of the Chuseok holiday. The company plans to build the event into a signature culture and tourism festival, adjusting the schedule to account for the holiday and demand from foreign tourists while deploying its largest-ever safety management personnel.

According to Hanwha on the 6th, "Seoul International Fireworks Festival 2026 with Hanwha" will be held on September 5 around Yeouido Hangang Park in Seoul. Unlike last year's event, held in late September, this year's schedule has been moved up to early September, taking into account the Chuseok holiday and demand from foreign tourists.

This year's festival will feature representative fireworks teams from three countries — Korea, the U.S., and the U.K. — each showcasing displays reflecting their own national character. Hanwha plans to make the festival more diverse by adding new fireworks displays and culture and tourism programs.

Safety management will also be strengthened significantly. Hanwha will deploy a total of about 4,700 safety management and crowd control personnel, including 1,200 Hanwha employee volunteers, across the pre-festival event and the main event day — the largest deployment in the festival's history.

The company also plans to strengthen on-site response systems, including using "Orange Safety," a real-time crowd density measurement system developed with telecom carriers, to help disperse crowds, and monitoring visitor flow in real time through zone-based CCTV installed around the outskirts of Yeouido and at Wonhyo Bridge, Mapo, and Ichon.

Hanwha plans to work with the Seoul city government and other relevant agencies to establish safety management and visitor convenience measures for the event, while continuing to build the Seoul International Fireworks Festival into a globally recognized culture and tourism festival representing Korea.

A Hanwha official said, "This year, we are preparing a more diverse event with new fireworks displays and culture and tourism programs added," adding, "We will do our best to create a distinguished festival with safety as our top priority."
