Hanwha Systems is set to hire hundreds of experienced professionals in the space sector, in line with Hanwha Group's large-scale expansion of space investment.

Hanwha Systems announced on the 4th that it will conduct open recruitment for experienced hires in its Space Business Division in the second half of this year. The hiring is a follow-up measure to Hanwha Group's recently announced 55 trillion won investment plan in defense AI and space.

The company is hiring in the hundreds. Recruitment covers the full range of the space business, including synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites, space AI data centers, low-earth-orbit satellite communications, satellite solar cells, and satellite service operations, sales, and strategy. Work locations include the Seoul office, the Pangyo R&D Center, and the Jeju Space Center.

Applicants must have at least five years of relevant work experience. Time spent earning a master's or doctoral degree from domestic or overseas universities is also counted as experience. Applications can be submitted through the Space Business Division's dedicated recruitment website, with document submissions open since the 31st of last month.

Through this hiring drive, Hanwha Systems aims to secure the core personnel needed to advance new space businesses, including ultra-low-earth-orbit SAR satellites, space AI data centers, and low-earth-orbit satellite communication networks.

Earlier, on the 3rd of last month, Hanwha Group Vice Chairman Kim Dong-kwan announced a mid- to long-term investment plan of 55 trillion won in AI and space at the "National Report on the Advanced Industry Development Vision for the Yeongnam Region" event held at Gyeongsang National University in Jinju, South Gyeongsang Province. Of this, Hanwha Systems plans to invest about 20 trillion won in the space sector, including building ultra-low-earth-orbit SAR satellites, a space AI data center, and a low-earth-orbit satellite communication network.

A Hanwha Systems official said, "This large-scale hiring will mark a step toward fully advancing Hanwha Group's investment in the space sector and building the core human foundation for Korea to become a leading space power," adding, "We look forward to strong interest and applications from ambitious, capable talent who can lead the global space market."
