SK Hynix says it has no plans for additional production sites beyond current announcements

SK Hynix stated that it has no plans for additional production site expansions beyond those previously announced.

During its second-quarter earnings call on July 29, SK Hynix said, "At present, we are not considering additional production sites beyond the investment plans already announced."

While supply stability remains a critical competitive advantage for the supplier, the strategy focuses on maximizing the utilization of existing production hubs while leveraging recently announced large-scale domestic investments for long-term infrastructure. SK Hynix previously announced plans to establish a new semiconductor cluster in the southwestern region, in addition to existing expansions in Yongin and Cheongju.

The company further stated, "Rather than distinguishing between domestic and overseas locations, our basic direction for future production site acquisition is to comprehensively review factors such as power and water supply to determine the optimal approach."
