Hyundai Motor Group is expanding its corporate social responsibility activities in Brazil, taking the lead in growing together with the local community.

According to Hyundai Motor Group on July 23, the initiative is designed to contribute to Brazilian society while strengthening bilateral relations between South Korea and Brazil.

This follows Executive Chair Euisun Chung's meeting with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in 2024, during which he expressed a commitment to pursuing CSR activities for local communities along with an 1.1-billion-USD investment.

The effort reflects the group's intent, as a company maintaining a production base in Piracicaba, Sao Paulo, to step up its contributions toward solving issues facing Brazilian society.

In the environmental sector, Hyundai Motor plans to continuously expand its signature CSR project, IONIQ Forest. Moving forward, the company will review future directions for the project in connection with environments adjacent to its business sites.

In the medical field, Hyundai Motor Brazil (HMB) will broaden the operational scope of its mobile dental clinic initiative, "Sorriso Cidadao" (Dental Trailer).

Sorriso Cidadao has been a flagship CSR program pursued by HMB since 2014, in which medical personnel including dental specialists board a trailer equipped with diagnostic and treatment gear to visit schools and local communities to provide care.

In the cultural and educational sectors, Hyundai Glovis and Hyundai AutoEver are running CSR programs of their own.

Hyundai Glovis is continuing this year with its Korean Film Festival program, which it has conducted since 2023 to bridge Korean and Brazilian societies through culture.

Hyundai AutoEver will significantly strengthen its "Instituto Formar Lectures" program this year, an IT training initiative involving technical staff from its local subsidiary. The educational targets are youths receiving vocational training upon recommendation from social welfare institutions in Piracicaba.

An official from Hyundai Motor Group emphasized, "Aiming to be a company that grows alongside the local community in Brazil, we will continue to steadily promote CSR activities needed on the ground," adding, "We will discover initiatives that benefit Brazilian civil society and contribute to improving environmental issues."
