Hyundai Motor announced on the 16th that it is recruiting participants for Forest Run 2026, an eco-friendly running campaign driving toward a sustainable future.
Since 2016, Hyundai Motor has hosted this eco-friendly social contribution campaign to raise awareness about fine dust and help create cleaner skies. The initiative encourages participants to contribute to forestation efforts through tree donations.
To date, the campaign has drawn approximately 250,000 cumulative participants, who have run a total of 7.47 million kilometers and planted 30,850 trees.
This year's Forest Run 2026 will take place on September 12. The event features a 10-kilometer course starting from the Cultural Plaza at Yeouido Park, crossing the Seogang Bridge, and turning back to the starting point.
Marking its 11th anniversary, the campaign has selected the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), the world's largest humanitarian organization, as its official donation recipient to join the Half Green Moon Project.
Furthermore, Hyundai Motor has significantly increased the donation scale per participant for this year's event. Together with 6,500 runners, the company plans to plant approximately 100,000 trees in Niger, located in the Sahel region of Africa.
"Forest Run is a running campaign designed to plant trees alongside our customers and build a cleaner world free of fine dust," a Hyundai Motor official said. "As we are expanding the scale of tree planting and collaborating with the WFP this year, we hope many participants will join us on this meaningful journey toward a sustainable future."
