Samsung’s three engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) arms—Samsung E&A, Samsung C&T (Construction Division), and Samsung Heavy Industries—are creating a platform to discover new technologies and innovative ideas within the EPC sector.

The three Samsung companies announced on the 16th that they are launching the 2026 ConTech Competition.

The ConTech Competition is an open innovation program co-hosted annually by the three Samsung EPC firms since 2021 to discover technologies applicable to construction and industrial sites. The competition is open to domestic small, medium, and mid-sized enterprises (SMEs), startups, universities, graduate schools, and academic-industrial cooperation foundations possessing innovative technologies or ideas.

The competition is divided into two categories: Business & Product and Detailed Technology. The Business & Product category covers architecture/civil engineering, plants, and shipbuilding/offshore, while the Detailed Technology category seeks submissions in digital transformation (DT), artificial intelligence (AI), smart manufacturing/construction, and eco-friendly technologies.

Applications can be submitted via the competition’s official email from July 20 to August 21. Following document screenings and presentation evaluations, the final selections will be announced on November 30.

Selected enterprises and institutions will receive opportunities for proof of concept (PoC) testing, joint technology development, and commercialization support. Further details can be found on the official website of Samsung E&A.
