Samsung Electronics developing 'AI PC Accelerator'

Samsung Electronics has entered the AI PC market.

 

According to industry sources on July 9, Samsung Electronics is developing "GAIA," an AI accelerator for AI PCs.

 

Unlike conventional PCs, GAIA is uniquely characterized by its specialization in AI computations. It is reportedly designed to efficiently execute generative AI workloads on personal computers.

 

The chip is understood to be manufactured using a 4-nanometer (nm) process. It is currently undergoing performance verification with clients, and mass production is expected to begin as early as next year.

 

A Samsung Electronics official stated, "We are developing an AI accelerator, but we cannot confirm specific details."
