Hanwha Aerospace is strengthening cooperation with its suppliers to secure self-reliance in domestic aircraft engine technology.

The company announced on July 9 that it signed an Aero-Engine Win-Win Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with its manufacturing partners and related organizations. The agreement aims to build a robust industrial ecosystem essential for achieving localized aircraft engine technology.

The signing ceremony, held at the Changwon Exhibition Convention Center in Changwon, Gyeongnam Province, on July 8, was attended by around 100 representatives, including officials from 49 key supply chain partners in the aero-engine manufacturing sector.

Under this agreement, Hanwha Aerospace plans to provide tailored technical and vocational training for suppliers, support research and development (R&D) expenses and infrastructure, and improve the transaction environment. Through these initiatives, the company aims to proactively respond to government-led developments of 10,000-pound turbofan engines and advanced aircraft engines.

Hanwha Aerospace has been steadily expanding its win-win cooperation efforts in the aero-engine sector. Following a win-win cooperation declaration ceremony in February, the company signed an MOU for aero-engine materials and components, and has since driven shared growth policies, including joint R&D projects and support for suppliers expanding into global markets.

"Achieving self-reliance in aircraft engine technology absolutely requires the shared growth of the entire ecosystem," a Hanwha Aerospace official said. "Backed by this win-win cooperation, we will do our utmost to develop homegrown aircraft engines."
