Hankook Tire & Technology’s iON FlexClimate clinched first place overall in the 2026 "All-Season EV Tire Test" conducted by Auto Bild, a prominent German automotive magazine. For this test, the tires were fitted onto Kia's electric SUV, the EV3, to comprehensively evaluate braking performance, mileage, and other metrics across diverse driving environments, including dry and snowy roads.
According to Hankook Tire on July 7, the test results recognized the iON FlexClimate for its highly refined performance and overwhelming durability. Notably, as the only tire in the evaluation developed exclusively for electric vehicles, it secured the highest scores in wet braking, handling, and circle turning performance, while outpacing leading global brands with a projected mileage of up to 54,560 km.
The iON FlexClimate is a product from iON, the world's first full-lineup EV-exclusive tire brand, and has earned the "3PMSF" certification mark required for winter tires in Europe. Infused with EV-specific technologies, it balances grip and handling with energy efficiency, mileage, and quietness to deliver stable driving performance year-round.
"The iON brand is gaining strong recognition in the European market on the back of continuous technological innovation," Hankook Tire stated. "Our performance tire, the iON evo, has secured Auto Bild’s highest rating for three consecutive years since 2023, and the iON product lineup has consistently proven its global competitiveness through evaluations by the international certification body TÜV SÜD."
