Director Christopher Nolan, a world-renowned master filmmaker, will visit South Korea for the first time early next month to promote his new film 'Odyssey'.

Universal Pictures, the local importer and distributor of the film, announced Director Nolan's upcoming visit on August 3 and released a handwritten letter sent by him. In the letter, Director Nolan stated, "I am deeply grateful for the love and support that Korean audiences have shown for my films over the years," adding, "Visiting Seoul with 'Odyssey' makes it even more meaningful, and I am sincerely delighted to meet the Korean audience in person and present this film to you."

Universal stated, "The love of Korean fans for Director Nolan's works is truly extraordinary, with 'Interstellar,' 'Dunkirk,' 'Tenet,' and 'Oppenheimer' drawing a combined audience of over 36 million viewers," adding, "This visit was made possible by the active request of Director Nolan, who had attempted to visit Korea multiple times in the past but was unsuccessful. It is the result of him personally and meticulously coordinating various schedules, expressing a strong desire to meet fans in Korea and introduce 'Odyssey' himself."

Accompanied by Matt Damon, who plays the main character Odysseus, and Charlize Theron, who portrays Calypso, Director Nolan's trip to Korea takes place ahead of the film's release on the 5th of next month. This marks Damon's first visit to Korea in 10 years since 'Jason Bourne' in 2016, while Theron is stepping foot on Korean soil for a film promotion for the first time. During their stay in Korea, they plan to carry out various official schedules, including a press conference and a red carpet event.
