According to reports by state-run media, including the Xinhua News Agency, President Xi delivered an "important speech" during the anniversary ceremony held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing that morning, stating, "We will resolutely strike against Taiwan independence separatist forces and oppose external interference." He added, "We must firmly advance the great cause of national reunification."
He continued, "Resolving the Taiwan question and realizing China's complete reunification is a historic mission that our party has consistently pursued and is the common aspiration of all Chinese people." He then asserted the necessity of adhering to the "One China" principle and the "1992 Consensus" (an agreement reached in 1992 acknowledging "One China" while allowing each side to use its own designation).
Furthermore, he emphasized his core military doctrine, the "strong military ideology," stating, "To be a strong nation, we must have a strong military. Only with a strong military can a nation be secure. We must fully implement the party's ideology of building a strong military for the new era and carry out the military strategic principles of the new era."
President Xi went on to assert, "We must advance the modernization of national defense and the armed forces to a high standard, achieving our goals for the centenary of the People's Liberation Army as scheduled. We need to accelerate the development of the People's Liberation Army into a world-class military."
In addition, while praising the 105th anniversary of the party's founding as a "proud and glorious history," he noted, "We must never become arrogant or complacent, nor can we content ourselves with the current situation." He urged, "We must fully build a great modern socialist country by the middle of this century and achieve the Second Centenary Goal," effectively signaling his resolve to continue his rule to fulfill these objectives.
